Hi. I have a 5 year old son who has struggled with willful, defiant, and violent behavior. He takes Guanfacine and sees a child psych and has been assessed for autism twice and has not qualified. I have also done PCIT with him.

He started getting kicked out of daycares at 2. Now he’s 5 and anything I tell him to do, he says “no” or flat out does the opposite and at times laugh while doing it. He’ll have meltdowns and anger where he will hit, kick, bite, scratch, throw items, etc. and destroy his room. If I tell him no to something, he’ll look me in the eye and say “YES” and tell me he’s the boss of me and makes the rules. If I tell him I’m going to do something as a punishment ie take away his tablet, he’ll go “good!! Take it” and throw it. Even things as little as stop opening the back door, he will do over and over again. All types of punishment has not been effective on him; gentle, authoritarian, positive and negative reinforcement, etc and now I’m 10.5 weeks pregnant and scared for my safety and my baby’s safety. I am at a loss of what to do. It is all day long, every single day.
