What to tell a young child about separation

Post Body

My post history explains how f’ed my marriage is, but basically my therapist and a marriage counselor both think my husband is emotionally/verbally abusive. I’ve been formulating a plan to move out with my children. My husband is a SAHD so my children (5f and 4 month old m) are with him all the time.

My therapist thinks that once my plan is in place, I should just move out without telling him, and let him know I’m not coming back unless and until he fixes himself then cut contact. The thought of that leaves me highly anxious but I’m considering it. My lingering question though is what to tell my 5 year old when she inevitably asks for her dad. Anyone in this situation have advice? Thank you
