My infant son has been fighting a sinus infection and post-nasal drip cough for three weeks. Halfway through, conjunctivitis also developed but we cleared that up. We took him to a few doctors and even the hospital because, at times, he wouldn't eat and would vomit from coughing to much. No one would give us medicine because it was "viral". They said rest, vapouriser, warm showers, etc.
Now my wife took him to a Paediatric Specialist and he immediately said it is bacterial and needs three week course of antibiotics!
This whole time, I feel like I have neglected my son because he has needed medicine and I guess I didn't push hard enough for it, since every doctor said it was a virus. Now he has to do three damn weeks of antibiotics! I feel so sh*t. I have let him down!
Is three weeks of antibiotics a long time? How can I counteract the side effects of them?
Yes, you tell me I'm a bad parent! 😩
