Post Body

I have 4 kids - 15, 11, 5, and 5 All kids have chores. My 11 yo is a rock star. She does her chores when I remind her. Sometimes I’ll ask her to do some extra cleanup. She usually does that too without a fuss.

My 15 yo is the complete opposite. She barely does her chores, even when I remind her multiple times. She’ll start a job but not complete it even if I ask her to. She even goes so far as to convince her younger sister to do them for her.

15 yo treats her stuff like crap. She left moldy food inside her lunchbox for a month, then left it in the sink. Yeah, I’m tossing it. I bought her an expensive dress ($70). Before we left the store, I confirmed with her that she will wear it. As of now, I think she’s worn it once in the last 6 months. And she leaves it on the floor in her room in a giant pile of clothes.

She gets $15 allowance for doing her chores but I’m going to have to reduce it or eliminate it totally until she can be more responsible.

Any suggestions or advice? I need help.
