I have seen floating blue orbs several times, and everything I have heard about them points to ghosts/spirits. I’d like to share some personal experiences, and get some insight if possible.

Experience 1-

While on a school retreat in middle school, a friend and myself woke up in the middle of the night at the same time (roughly 11:50 pm). The wind had picked up dramatically, which was strange because the weather was forecasted to be clear and calm for the weekend. We were both looking out of the window of the cabin towards the woods about 30-40 feet away. Coming from the right we BOTH noticed a blueish light traveling to the left following the tree line. The blue orb lined up with our cabin window and disappeared into the tree line. The orb was bright enough for us to clearly see that there was no humans, animals, etc around to cause this phenomenon. side note There was a very old cemetery on the property.

Experience 2- While working in the oil field in West Texas/New Mexico, I would sit on a job site week after week for months at a time at night monitoring oil well production rates. Keep in mind that all of these job sites are in the middle of the desert, with no towns within 10-30 miles sometimes. This one particular job site I was on (near Pecos, Texas), was 10 miles from the nearest civilization. I was exclusively a night shift operator and have seen some weird stuff out there. One night while on shift, I noticed a blue light turn on about 300 yards off of the job site, in the middle of the desert (literal sand, shrubs, tumble weed, and cacti). I started at this light for several hours wondering what the heck it was. After 3-4 nights of seeing this turn on at the exact same time (10:45 pm), I called my day shift operator and woke him up (we slept in campers on the job site). He obviously was NOT too excited about me waking him up for some dumb light, but his attitude changed when he saw it. His answer was this “I have no idea what that is, but I can tell you one thing. There is nothing out there capable of producing a light. Ask the pumper when he comes out tomorrow night to check the well.” Fast forward to the next night and the pumper comes out. I ask him about it and told him it comes on every single night at ~10:45ish. He stuck around for a whole extra hour to watch this light come on, and it did. He looked at it and said “that is impossible.” He immediately pulled out his laptop and showed that there was nothing out there on survey maps (no electric, no wells, not even a water pump).

Experience 3- While hunting in South Texas, we were walking around looking for hogs at night. We came up to a clearing in this pasture that had a small clump of trees in the middle that we were going sit in while waiting for hogs. As we were about to walk to the clump of trees we noticed a blue light (presumed it was a flashlight from trespassers). We snuck towards it ready to stop them and call the sheriffs office to arrest them (we have had issues with cows and tractors being stolen in the past). We both turned on our gun lights to identify the “trespassers” and watched this light “cave in” on itself and disappear. My buddy (ex military) immediately rushes the position, thinking they could’ve ran into the creek bed nearby. We both make it into the creek and look both ways for people, dropped items, and boot prints (the creek is usually just “dry mud”, it is dry enough to where there is no water, but just wet enough to leave prints). Upon looking for tracks, we found absolutely nothing… not even animal tracks. Landowner advised us that the property’s history goes back many, many years.

TLDR: I see floating blue orbs, and I think they are ghosts.
