Post Body

Hello all.

I’m not sure if this belongs here but I’m also not really sure where else to post this. For some background, as a kid I was able to have close eye visuals pretty constantly snd would have nightmares, auditory and visual hallucinations and some sleep paralysis that always involved some sort of alien creature.

Fast forward to today and up until yesterday I can’t remember the last time I had close eye visuals because I’m now incapable of seeing images in my head. The condition being coined Aphantasia.

Yesterday I got my first Reiki treatment done. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Reiki is a form of Japanese spiritual healing that is supposed to help your body heal through issues with your chakras and such. I’m no expert but my partner had suggested it to me. During the treatment, I began to have some close eye visuals of normal things and it was great. Fast forward to when my partner and I went to sleep that night and I have a very clear, very creepy visual in my mind. This lanky, skin like black rubber, goggle-like eyes and a cork for a mouth hiding under a white table. They were slowly crawling at first until it felt like they turned to look at me. I wasn’t asleep at this point and felt like I had this image projected onto my mind. We stared at one another for awhile until my ears started to ring and I opened my eyes.

I’m not really sure what I’m dealing with here and it could be nothing but I’d love to go back to not having close eye visuals at this point lol.
