Hi everyone, I’m considering starting paramedic school soon. I’ve been an EMT for about a year, working at a BLS company and as an onsite EMT at an Amazon fulfillment center. I’m not a genius, but I’m dedicated and have a solid work ethic, following the motto, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
My current job offers tuition reimbursement, which would cover a medic program 100%. So, if I pass, I’d get a free medic license with no obligation to work for a specific company afterward.
To those who are already medics, what challenges should I expect if I pursue this? Any tips or advice for someone aiming to become a fire medic? I have great respect for all of you and appreciate any insights you can share. Thank you heroes!
Upon second reading. I’d quit the BLS company and go get on with a 911 company. Run as many 911 calls as you can for 6 months-year and then go to school. If you’re doing IFTs get out of there dude.
