Taxes on Tips
Post Body
So my manager said that I'm responsible for paying taxes at the end of the year on my tips. Does that mean I'm an independent contractor? I get paid hourly as a delivery driver. It's my understanding you're either an employee or independent contractor, so how can I be responsible for the tips? If a customer pays a tip through credit card, doesn't that tip get taxed and I get the remaining amount in my paycheck?
