I've been a lifetime supporter of Israel for the only reason that I support the causes that to me are fair and just. I live in Western Europe in a country with a massive pro-palestinian opinion of various kinds (leftists, far right antisemites, muslims, brainwashed).
I know that most of pro-palestinian supporters are to me "beyond saving" and whatever I'll do to reason them, they won't. I only discuss with reasonable people ready to admit other opinion and ready to admit they are wrong when they realize they are.
What bothers me is that being a supporter of Israel is a politically incorrect attitude in itself, and if you express this attitude, people around will rush to show they are offended and to insult you, unfriend you, or try to make you change your point immediately - and not taking "let's agree to disagree" as an answer. I am enough documented to be a staunch pro-Israel without any personal interest. These discussions are sterile to me and exhausting.
What bothers me is that being respectfully pro-Israel is like not socially normalized, and it is associated with a hate crime. What also bothers me is that pro-palestinian activists indulge themselves to spread their anti-israelian propaganda EVERYWHERE, including offtopic in public and/or virtual spaces who are not dedicated to politics. Some days ago, I read into a community dedicated to linguistics and meme humour a post talking about "the crimes of Israel". I reported the post and commented that I don't wish to see such offtopic material. I have been immediately assaulted with insulting comments about me "supporting criminals" and "not having a heart to accept innocent children are murdered". This is the same the whole time. People who will try to sensibilize me to their cause, when they don't give a damn about other causes (Armenians, Uigurs, Rohinghya...) and IN PARTICULAR they don't give a damn about Israelian innocent lives and keep their mouth shut when it's about this happening, don't publish anything or just mumble a "yeap this is sad too but look they crop what they sew".
One other day, I was stopped on street by a woman with a jihab who asked me to donate as support for the "Palestinian cause". Instead of just saying, "no thanks" as usual, I added "I'm not supporting terrorism". She started to shout at me in full street that I am a heartless "friend of assassins" and asked me if I was a jew. I left her to gesture enraged.
Tl;dr : there is an annoying social pressure to support palestinians and condemn Israel or to shut up.
