Like I said, anecdotal but I've always been wary of wheat well before I even encountered Paleo. Let me explain. I've only ever known two people who ate wheat germ regularly. One was my great aunt who died of stomach cancer. The other was an older gentleman I worked with in college who contracted but lived through stomach cancer. Both had it in their early sixties. Both had wheat germ on their fruit and cereal in the morning. I've avoided wheat germ, almost quite literally, like the plague since the man I worked with developed cancer. Does anyone else have any anecdotes that have lead them to the Paleo way?
