Hey fellow paleo people, I love avocados, but they are really expensive in my area, even at the Mexican groceries. Are there any other high fat, custardy textured produce that I could use as alternatives? I am in the Blue Ridge Mountain area of Virginia just in case there is some crazy local produce that may be available to me or not available based on my location.
Edit: I am more interested in alternative produce than alternative strategies. My point here is avocados, as far as I know are unique in their texture and macronutrient profile. Is this correct, or is there some other delicious fatty, custardy produce out there? Broaden my produce horizons!
Edit: Thanks for the suggestions everyone, but it appears avocado alternatives don't really exist. At least, not in a pure produce form.
