Hello,

I am a Paladins player that has started playing the game back in mid-to-late 2016, and stopped playing for a few reasons, mainly school and the fact that my internet at the time couldn't handle the updates' sizes and frequency. I came back last year, when the Stellar Sisters anime battlepass thing was about to end, and I have got a few questions since then. Would appreciate if I get some answers, even to one or two questions. Yes, some of these are definitely more important than others, but it wouldn't hurt to know about them all.

Since I have a lot of questions, these won't be in an order, just whatever is on my mind at the time of writing. You will find the main point of the question in bold.

I am not sure if to put this under chat or help flair, so I'll put it under chat for now, since I understand the game pretty well, I just don't get these things.

Answered:

-Even if you had the old VGS set through the settings, why are there commands missing? Stuff like "push the Payload", "I'll capture the objective", "Stepping away for a moment", "Bye", etc. Are nowhere to be found. Is it because voice packs are free now? Do they need to cut costs? At least give us the option for older champions, and use the generic VGS guy sound for others.

-Did healing get nerfed? I remember Seris being able to heal from 200 per green heal thing, yet now it does closer to 120? And I doubt that they would just nerf her healing this much.

-What happened to the Hi-Rez launcher?

-What happened to kill cam?

-What happened to POTG? Matches are tasteless without them.

-I remember taking a peek at the game in mid 2018? (When they did the free champions DLC thing with Khan, Koga, Furia and Dredge) , and every champion had a fourth talent. Was I misinformed, or did they get removed at one point?

-Speaking of levels, what happened to the level cap? Wasn't the cap like 40 or something? And why do you level up SOOOOOOO easily right now? Levels are almost meaningless, TBH. I played a couple of matches with people who are way past the 200th level, yet can't play the champion correctly. Why?

-What happened to the chest unlock animation?

-Where is Payload? Survival? Game of the day/week? Why am I stuck with just Siege, Onslaught and TDM now? I wouldn't even have bothered looking at them back then. Why were they removed?

-What happened the maps? I don't remember Frog Isle being this bright?

-What happened to the skin customization system? You had full control over what head, body, weapon, and voice pack your champion could equip. What happened to it?

-What happened to the shop?

Why can you buy more than one item of each category?

Why are items cheaper? Did they change the values?

What happened to the 5th shop items in each category like aggression and develop?

-What happened to gold? It's so useless and easy to get right now, it's annoying. I remember getting gold back in the day, something as low as 30k, was hard and took time, but it paid off because you could not only buy champs, but also voice packs, cards, recolors, sprays, emotes, etc. Now the gold is used for buying champs and... What? Oh yeah, and one of this meme titles, I guess. Great.

-What happened to the VIP system? I left a little after it was announced, but I wasn't around to actually see it in-game. Is it the battlepass system or what? I don't really play any multi-player games beside this and TF2, so I don't know anything about this stuff.

-Why are the menus and UI in general so uninspired now? I remember back then that it had some cool animations before selecting your legendary card, and the loadout select screen had a mix or red and blue, and had bars that resembled the levels the cards were at, IIRC. And the menus, especially the main menu and the champions menu were so, so much better. Why were these changed?

-What happened to mastery sprays and emotes? These were something that I remember was quite important, to me at least, back in the day. Because getting the amount of gold required and reaching the level required was something that resembled your dedication to the champion. Why are there no mastery emotes to new champions, and why are mastery sprays nowhere to be seen?

-Why are crystals so hard to get nowadays? I remember quests giving you some back in the day, and I have heard from a friend that daily rewards were a thing, but now it's only from the battlepass. Why? "Oh no! Now you have to play the game to get crystals!" I hear you scream. And to that I say, you're ignorant. Quests also required you to play. And battlepass is basically grinding. You could idle in training and still get the crystals from the battlepass, Mr. "Play the game.".

-What happened to Essence?

-Speaking of loadout menus and legendary cards, what happened to the character start animations? No, not talking about the champion select screen. I am talking about when they first spawn in at the beginning of the match. Didn't Cassie talk to Ziggs and then get to the center of the screen? Didn't Skye do a flip out of nowhere before we take control? Didn't Seris come out of the shadows? Why were these removed?

-Who made the current awful VGS system?

-Why is everyone MVP in the post game lobby now? Weren't there only 4 total back then? Now there is 10.

-What happened to recolors? Most are missing, and now only one recolor per champion. Why?

-What happened to the Radiant and weapon skins chests? I remember reading about the Rekt chest and the bone weapons skins way after I quit the game, but they were there. Now, they're no where to be found. Why?

-Why is the current Skye... Um... There is no way of saying this without sounding horny, but when did she get a plastic surgery? LoL.

-What does this generic looking map have to do with the game? It's in the background of the shop, champion, and loading screens.

-What happened to Drogoz, oh dear God, what happened to Drogoz? He used to be soooooooooooooooooooooo much faster in the air and he could actually fly. What happened? He doesn't even eat people, so I can't joke about him getting fat from eating too much people.

-Speaking of generic VGS guy voice, why can't you choose him anymore? That's too bad.

-What happened to the general speed of the game? Everything feels much slower now. Especially horses. Wasn't momentum and speed basically what made Hi-Rez go from a Smite-esque game to Overwatch/TF2 style game?

-A Google Form used to pop-up when you played test maps back in the day to ask about the map, it's quality, which champs were OP, which weren't, etc.. In the last update when test maps were around, this was nowhere to be found. Where is it now?

-What happened to Makoa? He used to be the developers favorite and they used to joke a lot about him and stuff. Heck, IIRC, they had an actual Makoa plushy to get along with his Plushy skin.

-Speaking of surveys, they used to do those from time to time. Why don't they do them anymore?

-Speaking of removed animations, what happened to horse animations? Didn't Drogoz look around from time to time, and didn't Viktor kick the side of the horse to tell it to go from time to time? Again, why were these removed?

-Speaking of the developers, when did basically all the old people leave and the current team take over? For example, where is Rory Newbrough or Brian Wells? I remember these guys, yet they are nowhere to be seen now.

-When did the game popularity drop this low? It's still active, but not nearly as much as it used to be. Like, I remember the video were they basically were flexing with the player numbers, yet now it's nothing near that.

-Why did Grohk get a visual rework that doesn't fit his personality? He now looks buff and intimidating, yet still has the dumb personality voice pack. Why? (I like the voice pack, not saying that the voice pack is dumb, the character is.)
