Gary Sanchez now has the same WAR (2.4) as Manny Machado and slightly less than Xan (2.7). But, Sanchez has only played in about half as many games as either. 60g vs 109g vs 119g respectively. Meaning if they played in the same number of games Sanchez would ( at the same pace) double both of them up in WAR. Machado's defense numbers have regressed, he's 4th on the team in Rdrs (4) and 5th on the team in DWAR (.6). Xander is even worse defensively -1 Rdrs, and .3 DWAR.

All-stars are expected to be 5 in WAR, by the end of season. Machado and Xander won't be close. Both are 30 years old and are owned a fortune going forward.

Other team notes:

Kim leads the team in WAR by a large margin (5.9 to Tatis at 4.5) Best dWAR and only .1 behind Soto for best oWAR.

Soto's defense is really bad for a young player. He'll be a full time DH within a couple years. DWAR is -.7 and Rdrs is -4.

Carpenter and Odor have been 2 of the worst position players in the sport, according to the analytics
