Potting bare-root mail plants
Post Body

Hey all, was wondering what your experiences were with potting bare-root mail Pachys. I've had varying success and have heard advice ranging from soaking the roots to planting in pure pumice for months until new roots grow. So far what I've noticed is that larger plants are (obviously) more resilient and can drop a lot of weight and leaves without killing it. I've also killed a few seedlings that just weren't able to put out roots in time to save itself from desiccation or rot (my bad). I've read that some people will spray bio-activators or use hormones to promote root growth, though I haven't tried it. Right now I tend to play it safe with specimens that have been dry and in the mail for more than a day or two, and try not to water right away, though it scares me to wait...

Does anyone have any general advice for how they treat their bare-root mail plants ?
