Hello, went to the ER at the beginning of COVID because my heart felt funny, skipping beats, pauses, etc. I had no idea what was happening, turns out it was PVCs. Didn't get admitted, the doc wasn't too worried. They eventually passed in a few days. I was in trigeminy. I could feel every single one slamming my throat and sometimes making me cough.
From after that attack, I only remember having less than 50 per day, no big deal.
Fast forward to the end of 2022, I was laying in bed, started to feel some fluttering, and bam, my heart rate climbed to over 160. Whether or not this was some SVT or sheet panic, I went to the ER and got admitted. Everything essentially was normally except they wanted to do an echo before I left, which they did. It showed some dilation in my right ventricle. I got changed from propranolol for anxiety to daily bisoprolol (5mg) and was told to follow up with pulmonary because since its the right side, could be lungs.
Low and behold, I followed up and had undiagnosed sleep apnea probably for many years. My oxygen was dropping down to 79 percent and I was becoming tachycardic. Not good.
December 2022 I get a CPAP. I am super controlled now, most nights I have less than 0.2 events per hour and a lot of night none. I have been sleeping good. Also found out I have low Testosterone (42 M) so I am on TRT as well for about a year.
My PVCs have continued minimally, probably 50 per day, but I feel every single one.
Until 3 days ago and ongoing as of now. Having multiple per minute. Some bigeminy, trigeminy, some overly 5 or 10 bears, etc. The burden has to be pretty high. I've started taking my beta blocker twice a day, pepcid, magnesium, b complex, everything I can think of, no relief yet. Everything u read says they are pretty benign.
I recently moved and do not have any doctors, but not sure how concerned I should be since I'm not new to PVCs or anxiety. Also having been taking Xanax as well to try and help cope.
Anyone know how long it can take for a high burden to actually weaken the heart? Weeks? Months? Years?
I was thinking about going to the gym and doing some very hard cardio and trying to get near 90 percent of max heart rate to see if they will kind of recent my hearts irritability.
What are everyone's thoughts?
