X-ray and Tracer round options

Hi guys I'm planning on PS4 and I went to find a hide my helmet option in the settings and stumbled across X-ray and Trace lr around options. I have them both enabled and it says hold left on the d-pad to enable X-ray and hold right on the d-pad to enable tracer rounds. I tried both of these in games even though I already know it's how you switch your grenades and other things so I'm just trying to figure out how to activate these
