Why am I so bad at this game/why is it so hard?

I'd like to think my aim is prettty good. 3k hours on tf2, played sniper on a highlander team.

2k hours on bf4 and countless experiences with other fps's. Though I don't play csgo

I mention this because I don't think my aim should be as bad as it is.

I'll light a guy up and like only 1 bullet will hit him. Also I used to be able to make top 20 solo easily but I can even get more than 2 kills a round. I have a decent amount of squad and duo dinners but no solos yet :(

Is there something about aiming/recoil control I'm missing?
