Any ideas for an audio stuttering fix?

When I play the game, I get awful audio stuttering from gun shots, car sounds, movement sounds, bombing sounds, etc. Every time I get this stuttering it will devolve into awful tearing and crackling. It gives me gnarly fps drops and makes combat impossible.
i'm playing on a Lenovo Y700 with a Nvidia Geforce GTX 960m, an Intel I7-6700 ~2.3GHz with Realtek HD Audio.
There seems to be little headway on this issue on other forums. Any ideas?
