Main things I want to know about are how the headsets feel when used in conjunction with the PSVR headset as well as build quality.
Things of note, I have a gigantic head and thus plastic and articulation points break relatively quickly for me. I have previously owned the PlayStation Gold headset and the plastic headband would break after about a year of use and would prefer to get a longer life out of a headset than a year before I just wrap them in duck tape. As soon as the PlayStation Platinum headset came out I got those because they had a ski goggle type head band structure which was much more comfortable, better clamping pressure, and wasn't the failure point. However, since the cans were meant to fold in for travel usage and that hinge mechanism was simply a metal pin in plastic barrels, the plastic broke within 18 months and has been held together massive binder clips since then.
The Headsets I'm looking at:
At $100, PlayStation Pulse 3D Wireless Headset OR Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2
At $150, Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 OR SteelSeries Arctis 7P Wireless
At $200, SteelSeries Arctis 9 Wireless
At $330, Arctis Pro Wireless
The PlayStation Pulse 3D Wireless headset ($100 USD) because I like that it aesthetically matches the PSVR and PS5 and was designed to be able to be worn with the VR headset. I like that it has the same price as the Golds but incorporates the ski goggle type band without the folding of the Platinums and thus hope to get a 12-18 months out of them.
Reasons I'd consider the Turtle Beach Stealth 600s over the Pulse 3D is if the build quality and microphone fidelity are better while still being comfortable/fitting well with the VR headset.
Why I'm looking at the Stealth 700s is because I would really like the dual wireless functionality that Bluetooth affords (I really hate listening to music through Spotify). If the fit and build quality are comparable to the 600s I much just spend $50 more for the Bluetooth functionality though I'm bummed they only come in black. I was initially considering the Arctis 7P Wireless but considering the shape of the wireless dongle, I imagine it blocks the USB-A port on the front of the PS5 and it lacks Bluetooth so for the same price I'd go for the 700s unless I'm totally wrong and Turtle Beach headsets are utter crap.
If Turtle Beach headsets are crap and SteelSeries arn't then I might just jump to the $200 Arctis 9 Wireless if they last long and fit comfortably since it has Bluetooth as well but I don't know the size and shape of the wireless dongle and they don't seem to be in stock or available in white.
Not really considering the Arctis Pro Wireless due to price but figured I might as well ask while at it.
Any insights on these headsets and/or any other I might want to consider is greatly appreciated.
