I bought a PS4 slim 1TB system brand new from GameSlop about 3 months ago, did not purchase the GameSlop insurance. Anyway. I am playing a downloaded version of GTA 5 online for about a week when it crashes and gives me the good ol' CE-34878-0 error code. My friend's PS4, the oldest model, started doing this nearly every time a game was played and I'm wondering if that's the end game for me here with the Slim.
I want any and all info on this error and it's affect on Slims so far. What causes it, why do the fixes such as re-installing the game or initializing the system help? Is my console a lemon or are all PS4s liable to pull this crap eventually? Im a pretty smart guy, I'm not super informed on computer parts or operation but I can understand complex concepts so lay it all on me. I want to UNDERSTAND this issue so I can properly plan for the future and maintain my ability to play my games without crashes (what an idea, right?)
Any help is much appreciated, links etc. I couldn't find much definitive info on this or intimate knowledge on how and why it happens.
