Does anyone here use a cronusMAX with your PS4?

Yesterday I traded my second Xbox one for a PS4, a decision I can already tell was a good one. The only problem I haven't played with PlayStation style controllers since the PS1. This CronusMAX SEEMS like a good work around for me to use my Xbox one controllers.

I've heard things like this have a chance of shorting out the consoles USB, does anyone have any experience with it? Any long term success stories? I have friends who have suffered many damages from Keyboard and mouse adapters like the XIM, so I'm skeptical about paying $60 for something potentially harmful.
