Playing from used BD

Well i know this might be a stupid question but basically I've been wanting to play mgs4 for months and after getting a ps3 i tried to install the game via pkg which worked till you meet otacon at the graveyard and then gave a black screen and then tried with jb folder that didn't even install act 1 so I'd like to ask will this change if i play from a used disc of the game? cause as far as i know the game still needs to install all the acts on the hdd so idk if I'd still have the same problems
