I need help on what to buy.

So lately, I’ve been told by a number of people that I should try emulation, but me as a person I am not tech savvy and what makes it all the worse is that I don’t own a personal laptop in which I can be tech savvy so my only other option is to get a PlayStation 2 or a PlayStation 3 and play games to my hearts content but how long will it last with the disc degradation and everything else in 2023?
