I have a client that sells retail products that cater to Christmas (ornaments, Christmas music lights, etc.), but they also provide home decor and gifts for other occasions. Right now it is their off season.
I recently implemented a Performance Max campaign. Over the last 6 weeks that the Performance Max campaign has optimized, it gradually climbed to a consistent 3-5X ROAS, while the Smart Shopping campaign has slowly died. The Smart Shopping campaign is getting about 1000 impressions a day and about 100 clicks a day, but maybe 1 or 2 conversions a day, when it was getting 10-20 prior to this (since it's their off season). The Smart Shopping campaign had a Target ROAS of 313%, which I lowered a week and a half ago to 200% to try and get it to spend, since I figured the original Target ROAS was too high for Google to get conversions with it. I haven't seen much luck with that change.
What should I do? Should I pause the Smart Shopping campaign? Relocate budget from Smart Shopping to Performance Max? Give it more time or do a combination of these?
My other concern is that the Smart Shopping campaign is currently at a $0.4X and I'm concerned the client will see me leaving this alone a little longer as negligence.
Thoughts?
