I've always had my vision black out when crouching or standing quickly, but in the past few years I noticed that my BP was 130/80 or more during doctors visits. I also realized that what looked like anxiety was really a physical reaction in my body, I felt like I couldn't calm down, and my HR would go up to 160 while laying down for several hours. But I generally don't have the severe issues other people do like fainting, or difficulty with exercise. I started trying to get assessed for POTS because I realized the high BP probably not good for me, and I wanted a solution to my bodily anxiety.
I finally got my results back from my tilt table test. Before the nitroglycerin, my BP and HR stayed stable even though I was sweating, felt hot and cold at the same time, heart was pounding, felt dizzy, and felt blood pooling in my fingers/toes. After nitro, my BP went up to 140/80, HR at 117, I was gasping for breath, and felt pressure and buzzing in my head. The cardiologist gave me a POTS diagnosis, but I've only seen him once and he will he retiring in the next month so he gave me no follow up advice.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing at this point? I would really like to prevent any long term issues from high BP, and dealing with my bodily anxiety. I'm just kinda lost and would appreciate hearing from y'all about your journey. I'm particularly interested in hearing about hyperPOTS, it sounds like this might be what I have.
