Potentially healing from POTS/ stenting
Post Body

I just got the green light today from my vascular surgeon to schedule surgery to stent my iliac vein!!

Like many of y’all who have the hEDS/POTS combo, I have a major venous compression called May Thurner Syndrome. My iliac vein is 88% compressed. My only symptoms are leg heaviness and pelvic pain. I likely would never have made the connection between MTS and POTS if my vascular surgeon wasn’t focused on Ehlers Danlos research.

In fact, more research is coming out supporting the idea that a significant percentage of POTS patients have pelvic compression and may benefit from stenting.

My doctor told me there’s a 70% chance that my POTS symptoms will resolve themselves in the next 9 months to a year. It was the first time in the last year or so that I’ve felt overwhelmed with hope instead of grief.

I’m trying to temper my expectations but I’m so excited. If vascular compressions haven’t been on the radar for you, please look into it. And if anyone here has MTS and has been stented, I would love to know how it’s been for you.
