Doctor finally says it's POTS but is focused on finding the root cause
Post Body

I posted recently about 'failing' my Tilt Table as the nurse doing it said it doesn't count if you almost pass out but it's at the end... Well my GP says I definitely have it, but didnt seem like that diagnosis was really the main issue. She also mentioned it could be autonomic dysfunction - which I thought was the same as POTS?

She is happy to treat me for POTS but not until I have seen a neurologist and rheumatologist. I'm constantly being referred around spending $$$$. Sometimes the insurance won't cover these tests as they're deemed unnecessary (not enough symptoms etc). I know she is concerned about POTS being a symptom of something else.

I have a positive ANA but have had false positives on autoimmune disorders in the past and no official diagnosis there. She mentioned MS too and strongly wants to rule that out with a brain MRI.

I guess my question now is how many of you know what the root cause of your POTS is, if you have one at all?
