Hey all,
Since itâs the Covid 19 Pandemic and all, I am confined to my home for the most part, for the sake of social distancing and the like. So, being a single guy, I donât want to completely give up on the dating scene but I also donât want to âget out thereâ...you know, social distancing. So the conclusion? Cyber-dating :)I have spoken to a few women on Bumble and Plenty of Fish mostly, and even made it a point to state that I am not interested in literally meeting them, at least not until the quarantine is all over.Â
Why is it that when I suggest voice-based chat (like mic-chat, phone call, video chat) that women decline or suddenly ghost me? Is there an âacceptableâ time to ask?Â
The issue is: you CANâT emotionally connect with someone through text-based chat. You CANâT get to know somebody properly until youâve at least âmetâ them, ie at least heard their voice and seen them. Also text-based chat gets boring within a week in my experience. I used to be more patient until I met personally with a woman after 3 months and found we had no chemistry. Text-based chat is a good way to determine that they arenât completely nuts, or that they speak good english, but beyond that ANY feeling of âemotional connectionâ or âchemistryâ is just the individual investing time and energy into their messages. Itâs all one-sided.
What are your thoughts?
