Just caught up to TBT, and am curious as to why it ended so quickly?

f had put off season three for a while and when I come back to finish it I find out there isn’t any more, and there’s so many unanswered questions. I just want to know why they cut a show with such good momentum so short? Was it not as good as I thought? Did someone die? Seriously I can’t think of why they’d do this.
