Magnesium supplementation helped me with my mood but not with my food compulsion/increased appetite, especially for chocolate

Post Body

Iā€™ve been taking a magnesium supplement for a month now and I actually saw great improvements in my mood. But I always read that ā€œyou crave chocolate because cocoa is magnesium rich. So what your body is actually craving for is magnesium, not chocolateā€ so I was hoping that my sweet tooth would calm down and it didnā€™t. I still crave for sweets, especially chocolate and I feel hungry all the time and I canā€™t stop eating. Does anyone have any theory on why chocolate is a thing for PMS and PMDD sufferers and apparently itā€™s not about the magnesium? It ruins my diet every single month (Iā€™m an athlete).
