Doctors prescribing Bipolar meds when they know I have PMDD

Post Body

I've been working with 2 therapists and a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist does therapy sessions before prescribing, it seems like they have a good system out of anything I have so far. As far as medical quality in my remote area, I'm still a little hesitant but who knows if I know any better.

Recently, they put me on Wellbutrin and Buspirone. They told me it's what they use to treat people with Bipolar. I told them that's not what I have, and my psychiatrist basically explained that while the causes are different, many symptoms are the same and these medications help with evening out mood, and anxiety/depression. We have been working with supplements and other life habits to mediate the unique PMDD symptoms.

I have to say, this is the best I've felt in a long time. I'm wondering if anyone else has been treated this way? My doctors repeatedly said that I have a textbook PMDD case and there has been multiple evaluations with each one to check, and the reaction is always "well, you line up with EVERY symptom so we're confident," but using BPD medication is enlightening. I feel like I actually have my life under control.
