Does internship count to the experience for PMP?

About to hit two years in the same company as a construction project management intern this coming January. Will most definitely be still in the company until I finish my bachelor's degree (hoping early 2025 🤞). With the bachelor's degree plus internship experience, will that qualify me for the PMP certification?

Next question is that I want to get into IT project management NOT construction. Would it be better if I took a full time job in the same company as a construction project manager first to get experience on my resume (then apply for IT project management) or would my internship experience BS-IT Management be enough to land a job in IT project management straight up?
