Background: I’ve been in tech for 10 years with and bit of different career path. My main role has been UX Design. I’ve also been product owner and project manager at the same time. My last role was 100% product manager.
My career goals are to: 1. Get a job as I’ve been unemployed for a while. 2. Get more experience as a project manager or product owner. I’ve had a lot of on the job training and need more experience as well as complete certifications for one of these roles.
It’s been hard for me to get a position in Tech industry due to a lack of experience with said title. A small but growing franchise is interested in me as a project manager because of my diverse skills.
- The people are awesome
- Full remote but everyone lives in same county
- Exciting projects with a direct impact on company growth
- Projects are not software related
- Pay sucks
Question What should I worry about in taking a role as a project manager outside of tech?
