Time to mix things up.
Post Body

As you're all well aware: I haven't been paying much mind to the server. This is both because I'm a bit sick of Minecraft and care very little for it.

However, that's not fair to you guys. So I'd like to run an experiment that benefits everyone.

We'll create a new server that utilizes the latest snapshot build. Meaning you get all these fun features.

This, however, does mean that Tekkit will no longer be used. We'll probably go back to it after Tekkit updates to 1.3.

The server details are as follows:

  • This will be an experiment. Of what? Well you'll just have to wait and see. :)
  • The world will be finite.
  • There will be a small protected area that players may build near/under.
  • There will be no global chat. Instead players will have to use proximity based channels at all times.
  • PvP will be enabled.
  • Players will have limited lives before suffering a temporary ban of up to one hour.
  • When a player dies without a bed, they will spawn in a random location.
  • Players will be unable to use any teleport commands.
  • Monster behavior will be modified to be more dangerous.
  • Minecraft days will last 24 hours.
  • The server will be open to everyone; No whitelists this time.
  • Admins and moderators will be present, but only to moderate the usual server riffraff. (Spamming, hacking, ect)

and finally:

  • All players will be tasked with one ultimate goal.

I'm sure some of you have a general idea of what I'm trying to do. Either way, this is going to be fun.

The current server will stay up until this project of mine is ready. When it goes down, I will distribute the map so your creations aren't lost forever.
