I heard you guys talk about a lot of tv shows in the past yet have never mentioned this gem. It’s like Fargo (FX) season 1 where there’s a sociopathic genius character doing a cat and mouse like dance with an innocent relatable character. The show is set in Europe mostly in the UK where our main character Eve is an MI-5 agent who is informed of a murder in Poland. She gets the idea based on the evidence that the suspect is a female assassin killing for hire across Europe. The assassin known as villanelle is a crafty, multi-lingual, manipulative, remorseless killer. The show then goes on this impressively entertaining cat and mouse chase with some inter spliced dark comedy a la Fargo. The acting ability of the assassin is outstanding switching up accents and languages like it’s nothing and she has eccentric personality that makes her lovable. Also keep in mind, they are NOT afraid to kill people in this show. Just watch the first 5 mins of the first episode (It’s available on Hulu) and you will get a feel for how uncouth the antagonist is. The soundtrack and editing is cool too. There is even a part in the beginning of the first episode where they cut off dialogue mid sentence to progress the plot. cough superboy cough.
