Upgrading from RX 5700 to 6800 or 6800XT

CPU is 5700X3D and I'm currently saving up for a 6800 (~19k) or 6800XT (~23-25k) 2nd hand. Is it worth now paying 5-6k more for the XT? Planning to transition over to 1440p (not strictly 60fps but slightly higher) gaming once I finish upgrading my PC.
Edit: My PSU is a Seasonic S12III 650W 80 Bronze. Is this PSU compatible with a 6800/XT?
