Alright, can we all agree to stop butchering the English language? I keep hearing people use "yap" to mean talk, like "I was yapping with my friend last night" or "We were yapping for hours." No, you weren’t. And if you were, you're admitting your conversation was as annoying as a tiny dog barking its head off.
Let me break it down for those who missed it: "Yap" doesn’t just mean “talk.” It’s specifically about annoying, high-pitched, and constant noise—like the kind of pointless yapping that makes people want to smash their phone or run away. So when you say you're "yapping," you're basically saying your conversation was irritating and meaningless.
If you’re trying to say you were chatting, just say that. There's no need to throw in a word that makes you sound like you’ve been yapping like an overexcited dog at the park. It’s embarrassing. Use words like “talk,” “chat,” or literally anything else that doesn’t make you sound obnoxious. You're not a Chihuahua, stop acting like one.
"Yap" means annoying, incessant noise. If you’re using it to describe a normal conversation, you sound like an idiot. Learn some better words.
