Finding a Job is fucking hard!
Hello, I am an expat living in the Philippines for the past 7 years. My whole family moved here when my dad got a job in the country and then we came with him. Since then, I have completed my SHS and College education here locally and now I’m fresh out of college looking for a job. I took up IT so I am looking for a job in the same field within the networking umbrella.
This job hunt process has physically and emotionally drained me. For the past 7 months I’ve been trying to get companies to accept me and they are not even interested to give me a chance because of me being a foreigner. I even agreed to pay for my own visa (300k Visa Fees plus agent fees and AEP from DOLE 50k), but the companies are not even willing to provide me with the documents that are required for the AEP. The reason they have is that “We usually provide visa and help for much higher level job positions and you are still at the starting level” . I am frustrated by this and idk what to do now. If there is any help from anyone here in the IT industry then please comment down and I’ll DM you. Or any suggestions for companies that would be willing to hire foreigners for low level positions? I don’t have the option to go back home and start work there as my parents live here and I cannot just go back alone. 😅
