I messed up on quest 8 because I didn't have a steak skewer in my inventory. Help, please? (P4G spoilers)

I'm playing the PS4 remaster on PS5, and following a guide for maximization. I messed up, and tried to feed the missing dog on 6/1 because I thought I had a steak skewer in my inventory. Turns out I didn't. He's gone and I can't find him, and I'm now on 6/3. It says I'm supposed to hit rank 4 with Hermit social link on 6/3. I can't rank up because I screwed up the quest. Is this fixable?
