Produce pricing
Post Body

How is it that we Islanders are stuck paying high prices for local produce when my family in Ontario can get fresher, PEI grown produce for a fraction of the price. Take for example potatoes. M wife and I did groceries the other day - $6.99 for a 5lb bag of Island russet potatoes at the store. My mother just texted me a photo of the potatoes she just bought. 3lbs Island Russets - $0.99. How can we not be getting those prices when theyre being grown, processed and stored here and are not subject to the same shipping rate that Ontario grocers would? Is it greed? Price fixing? Thoughts?
