So in 2018 I did keto and dropped 75 lbs in about 18 months and my pcos was entirely controlled, normal 28-35 day cycles, normal length, average cramping, and PMS symptoms. By 2020, I had gained about 10 lbs an then found out I had a thyroid tumor which led to a thyroidectomy and due to the stress of the pandemic and thyroid health struggles I stopped keto and pretty much went back to standard american diet, I gained back 40 lbs, my periods became irregular, I stopped ovulating, acne back full force, when I do have my period I'm in agony. I've tried metformin in the past and the stomach issues are unmanageable. And the insomnia and heart palpitations are not fun on myo and dchiro inositol.
My dilemma is that my gallbladder is damaged so I can't eat high fat. So if I went low carb again I'd have to do a more Mediterranean high protein high fiber low carb plan which I'm not opposed to. PCOS is ass and I feel like my only way to manage my fertility and PCOS symptoms is through low carb.
