Mamageable Weight Loss Tips
Post Body

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting but I need some advice as noone around me reslly understands. For background, I am 23 and was diagnosed with PCOS about 6ish years ago.

Since I was about 13 I have tried losing weight, I tried lots of unhealthy ways and then more healthy ways. For the longest time I did healthy eating and exercise but it didn't work. I saw a doctor about it last year in the June and she prescribed me Orlistat. I was ecstatic as I was able to lose about 3 stone (I went from 18st to 15st 4lbs) and felt more confident than ever. I was then stopped on Orlistat (I had a stressful December as lots went on and stopped healthy eating and exercise, I lost the weight again but to the doctors it looked like I just was the same weight so they refused to give me anymore.

Skip to now, I am 17st 4lbs, almost back to mt original weight. I feel defeated and see all these tips about less carbs and more protein, no fat, try fasting, eat little and often for PCOS and its just not manageable with my job. Im a home carer and work a lot, I often have to go long periods of time with no food which, if I don't have meals that keep me full, I snack or overeat. I often have things like toast with eggs for breakfast to keep me full and meals like pasta that are easy to bulk make to then reheat for work, but this goes against most of the tips I see. I want to eat better for the sake of losing weight but Ive no clue what to try and I feel like its somewhat hopeless without having Orlistat. I work so much that I often don't have the time or energy for working out either. To put it into perspective, every other week I do 5 days of 7am till 9pm, so have little time to fit in exercise (I work the weeks in between but not as much). Ive tried talking to my partner who adores me for me and tries his best to help but he often suggests just healthy eating and exercise, or keto as hes heard of it, but I just feel like its not manageable or sustainable.

Does anyone have any tips or ideas of what I could do? I was feeling pretty confident about my body lately but seeing my weight slowly creep up has left me feeling so low and crap and I'm not quite sure what to do.

I do try and track my food intake on MyFitnessPal as I found that to be helpful to be awaee of what Im eating but I often make meals with a lot of ingredients which is difficult to input and with my job I often feel too exhausted to care when I feel like its all a lost cause

Tl:dr - I feel hopeless on my weight loss journey and I am wanting to find a sustainable method for myself but all the tips I see just wont fit in with my life right now
