Do metformin and progesterone actually work?

I just found out I got pcos 3 months ago (which explains the no periods) and I been prescribed Metformin 500 and progesterone 100 mg which I been taking on and off I won’t lie. But I have seen no results so far should I up the dosage or just trust the process??
