Once you have PCOS, is there any way to reverse it?

Basically what I'm wondering is....once you have hirsutism, hair loss, etc, is that just how it is, or is there a way to reverse it and heal your body?
I have an endo appointment soon to discuss spiro, but everyone seems to say that as soon as you stop spiro, everything goes back to how it was.
So I'm wondering if there's any other way to reverse these problems?
