I honestly don’t understand what goes through doctors minds. The medical gaslighting is insane, not just for women with PCOS but everyone. Everyone I’ve talked to experiences the same minimization, questioning of their symptoms, and ridiculous advice. My doctor just told me she was not concerned with my fertility even though my blood work indicates I am not ovulating (abnormal LH/FSH ratio) because…. Get this… “we live in Canada and there are lots of options available”
My DHEAS has been elevated since 2019 - at the highest it’s ever been now, 15 umol/L. I explain to her that it’s the source of all my symptoms- acne, fatigue, anxiety, etc and she said “lots of girls have acne, don’t worry”
WHAT!? How is this acceptable… I have to laugh rn but this just is not ok. Is this experience universal or is it more common in Canada I wonder?
We really have to advocate for ourselves. Even if we do though it takes multiple visits until they start to pay attention and begin any type of testing or treatment.

I agree! I think we know more. I’ve also heard they’re just scared to diagnose because it means more paperwork more expenses etc it’s a business and the way they treat patients I think is a part of the process to make their money and keep their jobs.
Just keep doing what you’re doing I know the repetition sucks but you’re on the right track.
