Hey everyone! TLDR: Acne has come back with different spot types than before, after months of clear skin, ONLY lifestyle change is working out again.
So I was diagnosed with PCOS hypothyroidism last year. I’ve been on synthroid and metformin steadily for a year now. My skin has finally cleared after getting my meds right and using retinol a few times a week. This has been happily going on for a few months.
After gaining 50lbs when I was unmedicated, I’ve now lost 20lbs from the meds while not exercising nearly enough. Since I hit a plateau, I decided to get back into fitness as I used to be a quite skinny/muscular woman at ~21 (I’m 23 now). All I’m doing is lifting via seated machines 3x a week with a cardio warm up and cool down. No protein powders, no supplements. I was my face on the regular post workout and I’m never that sweaty.
Now I’ve got red bumps all over my face! It’s a mix of cystic deep skin bumps and mostly little red dots alllll over. Nothings changed in my life except the working out. Has anyone had this before? What did you do for it? I’m on all the skincare stuff I can be, my only options here are stop working out, wait and wait for it to change, or ask my endo if this caused hormone changes we can fix w different med doses. Appreciate any help!
