I fought for 10 years to get my PCOS diagnosis, as every doctor refused to do the testing. 6 months ago I finally found a doctor who actually listened to me. We did the tests, and low and behold, I have PCOS. We also discovered I was prediabetic. My A1C was barely over normal, at 5.8. I have been taking metformin since and got my 6 month blood results. My A1C is now 5.3, which means I am no longer prediabetic! This feels like a massive win for me. Next step is to switch from my nonhormonal IUD to a hormonal one.
