Some progress and starting Wegovy

Post Body

I've posted on here previously, and just thought I would share my progress.

I previously had a plateau in my weight and symptoms, which was great. Funnily enough, these last couple of weeks I had a sudden increase in weight, so I met with my Primary care. She checked my hormone levels. I lowered my testosterone completely as well as my triglyceride levels (yay!). But my insulin and free cholesterol and plasma glucose were still as high as a year ago. Compared to my previous weight, I had increased up to 28 BMI and 170lbs in the last month. She was concerned that I was gaining despite how hard I work out and the strict diet I follow. I have a very strong family history for both hypercholesterolemia and diabetes, so she advised that I start taking some medication to help intially, and then wean off once I reached back to normal levels.

After discussing it, she thought that Wegovy would be the best start. The inital dose is 0.25 and increases every month for the max dose 4 months from now. I took one injection this week, and it's been alright. I can definitely see how it affects appetite and nausea. Despite the lack of desire, I've been forcing myself to eat at least 2 full meals and a lighter dinner to make sure I don't lack nutrition. I also will be sticking to my diet of no dairy, added sweetners, caffeine, or processed foods, as well as going to the gym and walk/running every day. I'll let you know how it goes for the next couple of weeks.

Note: my primary is who I see for my condition because she is helping manage my insulin resistance; I don't plan on seeing an endocrinologist since no other hormone levels are off, and I have had some success with the way we have been going about treating my health.
