So, I enjoy including stuff in my backstories that GMs can play around with and potentially use to fuck me over because I'm a masochist of a player. Well, I've been feeling the urge to go for the old tried and true "amnesiac" cliche.
This is more of a draft sheet for the next game I get into, so I'll probably go more into detail with them but in the interim, I decided to ask folks on reddit, see if I get any fun ideas to consider.
Current concept is basically: A woman wakes up either heavily injured or just feeling incredibly sick and/or weak. All she has with her are the clothes on her back, a satchel and a journal with all the pages ripped out except for one that says "Property of [What she assumes is her name]"
I like duality as a thematic concept, so I'm fond of playing very goodie-goodie characters, so I'm leaning toward adding the detail of another woman who looks exactly like her doing bad and/or shady shit, maybe attacking her. And of course, I'll probably add details about where she woke up and she met first.
Going into the actual mechanical details: I tend to enjoy playing talky-talky charisma-focused characters or skill monkeys as a reference.
Race-wise I've been historically prone to playing humans and wanna branch out a bit. A tiefling, changeling, warforged or fairy all strike me as interesting potential picks, especially since, excluding tiefling, I've never played any of those before. I haven't looked at the full race list yet, though, so I'm open to suggestions.
Class-wise. I'm thinking maybe a bard or a warlock. Not entirely decided though. Might go something with a martial/magic mix purely because the concept I've got in my head started reminding me of Robin from FE: Awakening.
Background I have no idea. I'll skim the list of options, but there isn't an "amnesiac" option unless I'm missing something and I'm trying to think what might be the best fit.
