Sometime around midday today on the 12th of January, emojis were added to nearly every role in the discord server. Most notably was that the red 'approved submitter role', which is likely the most common role on the server (at least among the active users), was given a blue verified check mark emoji, as seen on twitter. The Triple Piss role was also given a china crying emoji, while the 'verified user role' was given a crayon-drawn twitter check mark. These are not all of the new emoji role changes, but the most recognisable, due to the roles of the most active users in the server. We would like to note there were a handful of roles before this, which had been around for several months, but were only used for contest winning roles, and moderator roles. We held a quick Poll in General Discussion 1 to gauge the community response on a small scale. The Poll asked: *'Do you like the blue check mark and the every role getting an emoji thing?'* The results of the poll at the time of writing are 1 vote for yes, and 8 votes for no.

When asked of the community for any opinions on the change, community member Aaron gave the following statement in DMs: "*Personally, I think role emojis exclusively be for the "special roles" such as mods and personal roles using SC.*"

As this article was being written, the decision seems to have been partially reversed. The twitter blue check emojis for the red and grey roles were removed. However the new moderator emojis, and triple piss emoji remained. We would like to note, even though we don't have screenshots of it, there *was* a message in the role request channel, where you could react to a message to **remove** one's role emojis via a role with an invisible emoji.

It seems this short-lasting event was a trial run of some sort for the feature, but was reversed after community response.
